An Opportunity to Influence EU Policy Plus the Chance to Win an Amazon Echo Spot!

We are now inviting innovative SMEs to participate in our research through a short online survey relating to their firm’s innovation.

The purpose of the research is to examine the effects of Research and Development (R&D) Tax Relief/Incentives on SME innovation in Europe, in other words, to find out whether such schemes are effective stimulators of innovation in Europe. It aims to influence relevant policy across Europe.

The results of the project will also allow the development of an integrated ICT platform to perform data analytics on innovation funding, identify funding gaps and enable the provision of advice for stakeholders (public governing bodies, SMEs, private investors, representative bodies, etc.) on the management of innovation and funding schemes. This stage of research aims to gather quantitative data through an online survey.

We now seek SMEs that are pushing the boundaries of conventional science and technology to assist us with our research, and are looking for the participation of Directors, Owners, CEOs, and CFO’s of innovative SMEs across Europe to complete our survey, whether or not they have participated in R&D tax credit schemes.

This is an excellent opportunity for innovative SMEs to have their say: By completing the survey, participants will help to better inform and influence the future direction of policy relating to EU-wide R&D tax incentive schemes, as well as helping to streamline and better target them to meet SME needs, at European, national, regional and sectoral levels.

Participants have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win an Amazon Echo Spot (there are two up for grabs, worth over €100 each) and, if they wish, they can elect for their organisation to be mentioned in the acknowledgement page of the WATSON final report to be presented to the European Commission to highlight their assistance.

The data collected will be handled and stored with complete confidentiality and will be used for analytical and statistical purposes only by the WATSON research team. Research will adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998, the Data Protection Directive (EC 95/46) and the new GDPR policy which came into effect in May 2018.
